Battle’s / RHG Workers Ratify Contract, Ending 23 Day Strike
This past Friday, Battle’s Transportation / RHG Group workers voted unanimously to ratify a strong Union contract, ending a 23 day strike against the company. The workers started their strike against the company on December 4th and during the strike met with the company on several occasions to continue contract negotiations. The agreement reached between the Union and the company included strong wage increases over the next three years, improvements to Health & Welfare benefits, and numerous improvements to working conditions.
“Once again our Members stood in solidarity on the picket line and kept fighting until they won a fair contract,” said ATU Local 689 President Raymond Jackson. “We appreciate the company engaging in negotiations during the strike and their willingness to reach a compromise.”
“I’m incredibly proud of our Local 689 Battle’s members for holding the line for more than three weeks through the holidays,” said ATU International President John Costa. “Local 689 showed tremendous leadership and determination throughout this fight, standing strong to secure the agreement our members deserve. I saw firsthand on the picket line their strength, unity, and solidarity. Because of their resolve, our members can now return to the vital work of providing essential transportation for their passengers.”
