By engaging with elected officials during their deliberations, we can improve our members’ quality of life and the quality of transit in this region! We need you to be involved!

ATU Local 689’s Political and Communication Department works closely with allies and has a robust year-round presence in the Halls of Government for one purpose - to advocate for our members. The Union tracks dozens of bills moving through Congress, D.C., and Virginia and Maryland’s state legislatures. Below are some of the priority bills to better inform Local 689 Members and keep them up to date on key issues that could impact their daily working conditions and lives.
