Elections Scheduled in Maryland & the District of Columbia
September 14, 2010 & November 2, 2010

It is now easier to vote than ever. There is early voting, absentee voting by mail and regular Election Day voting—no excuses for not exercising your right:

Voter Registration
If you’ve moved, changed your name, haven’t voted for awhile or never registered

Voting
Primary Election: September 14, 2010
General Election: November 2, 2010
Polls open 7 am until 8 pm. Anyone in line at 8 pm will be permitted to vote.
If you are going to the polls on Election Day, you may only vote at your designated precinct. Find your voter registration status and polling place at: http://www.mdelections.org/
Early Voting
Maryland has begun early voting this year where you may go to a designated polling place in your county (not your regular polling place) and cast a ballot in the regular manner before the scheduled Election Date.
Primary Election: Early voting centers will be open starting Friday September 3, 2010 through Thursday, September 9, 2010, except for Sunday, September 5th when early voting centers are closed.
General Election: Early voting centers will be open starting Friday October 22, 2010 through Thursday, October 28, 2010, except for Sunday, October 24th when early voting centers are closed.
Early voting centers will be open from 10 am until 8 pm each day of early voting. Anyone in line at 8 pm will be allowed to vote.

Absentee ballot received deadline:
Mailed by Election Day and received at the local board of election by 10 am September 22 (Primary Election) or November 12 (General Election). You may also hand deliver your absentee ballot to your local board of elections on or before Election Day (Sept 14 Primary or November 2 General).
Do not request an absentee ballot if you plan to cast a regular vote at the polls. If you request an absentee ballot, you may only vote by absentee ballot.

Cast a ballot early at One Judiciary Square (441 4th Street, N.W.)
September 4 –September 11,* 8:30 am-7:00 pm, All voting locations will be closed on Sunday,
September 5 and Sunday, September 12.

Note: paper ballots will not be available at these sites. Voters wishing to cast a paper ballot may vote at the polls, by mail or at the Board’s office at 441 4th Street, N.W.

Mail Absentee Voting
Request a ballot and return it by mail. Absentee ballots can be postmarked until the date of the election or can be returned at any polling place on Election Day. They can also be hand delivered to the Board of Elections office up to and including Election Day.
