JAPANESE TRANSIT UNION OFFICIALS VISIT LOCAL 689
On Tuesday May 31 the Local 689 Union Hall welcomed officers from 8 Japanese labor unions. 689 officers and business agents, James McGee from Health &Welfare, and Ferline Buie from the Coalition of WMATA Labor Unions gave presentations on the history of our union and the top issues and actions of our Union. The union staff was presented with traditional Japanese artwork and in return gave our visitors Local 689 paraphernalia. Both sides learned much about international labor relations.
